I am never a fan of innocent people dying due to their circumstance, just happen to be in the way of or living among terrorist operatives, but our gov't should not have paid $40k to the villagers today. I know the military are only following orders, but the cretins above came up with this scheme to accomplish what. It sets forth a precedent which can now not be turned back. You paid them, now we want more or we want the same. Pretty soon we're handing money out to suicide bombers families....it's bound to happen at this rate.
I will say a prayer for those people who lost their lives as I do for so many folks who pass when they least expect it. I am sorry for their families' loss. Not to minimize it, but they are being held in proximity to these 'targets' on purpose. No doubt threatened with their lives either way. Try to leave we will kill you. Hang around and roll the dice. Sad really.
